Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager with extensive experience overseeing complex, large-scale projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the construction phases of our AI-driven data centers—projects that require strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and high-quality standards. You will work in close collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and operational readiness for mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Oversight
- Lead all on-site construction activities, coordinating directly with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure alignment with project design specifications and operational requirements, maintaining a focus on quality and precision.
Project scheduling & Progress Tracking
- Utilize Primavera P6 or MS Project to develop and maintain project schedules, monitoring progress against key milestones.
- Identify and address potential delays, bottlenecks, or resource constraints, implementing corrective measures to keep the project on track.
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Proactively identify risks - such as supply chain issues, labor shortages, or weather disruptions - and devise mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain open communication with project stakeholders to facilitate quick decision-making.
Site Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all on-site personnel.
- Oversee the implementation of safety programs, hazard assessments, and training, maintaining compliance with local and international standards.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Review and approve contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs, confirming alignment with project design and specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, materials, and compliance with quality standards.
- Use Procore or BIM 360 for project documentation and management, ensuring accurate record-keeping and version control.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients regarding construction-related matters.
- Facilitate meetings, status updates, and site visits, presenting clear information on project progress and challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, finance, engineering) to ensure resource availability and budget alignment.
Budget & Cost Control
- Manage and monitor construction budgets, addressing any cost overruns through change order management and value engineering.
- Collaborate with quantity surveyors or cost estimators to ensure accurate forecasting and financial reporting.
Continuous Improvement
- Champion process improvements and lessons learned for future data center construction projects, emphasizing efficiency, sustainability, and risk reduction.
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging construction technologies, and sustainable building methods.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years managing large-scale construction projects, preferably mission-critical facilities like data centers or high-tech industrial sites. Demonstrated success in leading projects through the full construction lifecycle, including commissioning and handover.
- Technical Skills: Primavera P6 and/or MS Project for scheduling.
Procore or BIM 360 for construction project management.
Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities, with the capacity to manage diverse, cross-functional teams.
