Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to spearhead the planning and execution of complex AI data center projects from conception through completion. In this role, you will ensure that construction initiatives align with strategic objectives, technical requirements, and client expectations. The successful candidate will be adept at balancing cost, schedule, and quality while leading multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, procurement, and construction management.

Key Responsibilities

Project Definition & Planning

  • Develop comprehensive project scopes, budgets, and delivery schedules in collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Establish performance metrics and milestones, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client requirements.
  • Identify and secure necessary resources—financial, human, and material—to achieve targeted outcomes.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including design, engineering, and construction professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of design and construction processes.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, scope changes, and resource allocations, maintaining a transparent and efficient workflow.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments (e.g., procurement, finance, legal) and external stakeholders (clients, regulators, community).
  • Facilitate regular project updates, steering committee sessions, and progress reviews, maintaining clear lines of communication.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding project scope, timeline, budget, and potential risks.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify and evaluate project risks—such as supply chain disruptions, schedule overruns, or regulatory changes—and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain an up-to-date risk register, escalating critical issues to senior leadership as needed.

Project execution & Control

  • Utilize Primavera P6 and/or MS Project to track project schedules, budget performance, and resource utilization.
  • Deploy ProcoreBIM 360, or Aconex for document control, workflow management, and project collaboration.
  • Conduct regular project audits, site visits, and quality assessments to validate progress against planned objectives.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion the adoption of cutting-edge construction methodologies, technologies, and sustainable practices in AI data center delivery.
  • Implement lessons learned and best practices from previous projects to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging team members to propose new ideas and approaches that drive project success.

Performance Reporting & Handover

  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports on key metrics—cost variances, schedule performance, risk status—to inform senior leadership and clients.
  • Coordinate project handover, ensuring successful commissioning and operational readiness of the data center.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations, capturing insights and process improvements for future initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 10+ years in project management with a focus on large-scale, mission-critical facilities (data centers, high-tech industrial, or similarly complex environments).
Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to exacting quality standards.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project for scheduling.
Experience using ProcoreBIM 360, or Aconex for project management and collaboration.
Solid understanding of data center infrastructure, health and safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Additional certifications in LEED, sustainability, or data center management (e.g., Uptime Institute) are advantageous.
