How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
I'm a network services professional and cut my teeth with an FX broker back in the nineties, when there was money to burn and Y2K was our biggest challenge! I've seen huge changes in this industry - from the shift away from proprietary real estate to data centres to the evolution through copper, fibre and wireless. To think twenty years ago that 40- or 100GB bandwidths would be 'run of the mill' would have been quite unbelievable, so this industry has had to adapt and grow ahead of those curves. It's never become tedious and still excites me today to see the speed of innovation
When did you join BSO and what’s your role?
I joined BSO in February 2018 as PMO Director - I manage the team of Project Managers and Field Engineers which is split across five locations in Europe, North Africa and Asia and is responsible to deliver both customer orders as well as any projects relating to the BSO backbone footprint.
What do you love the most about the BSO culture?
BSO is a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. It’s constantly evolving but it still has very 'old-school' roots engrained in its culture. The focus is very much on the customer and racing to deliver what they need, often in challenging geographies or environments. I love that, even whilst the company grows, everyone is still employing the startup mentality and going outside of their remit to get the job done.
Outside of work, what’s your passion? Or tell us something we don’t know about you.
My passions are my horses. Following major spinal surgeries after an accident in 2015, and an enforced year off work, I never thought I would ride again, so I count my lucky stars every day and, outside of work, I am pretty much solely focused on looking after them all
How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
I’m a proud father with 3 children, 2 sons and a daughter, all now grown up. I have been married for 39 years and I live in a small village in Bedfordshire, England.
When did you join BSO and what’s your role?
I joined in February 2013 and always focused on new business and customer satisfaction.
What do you love the most about the BSO culture?
Progressive – never standing still, always developing alongside the market and fun to work for.
Outside of work, what’s your passion? Or tell us something we don’t know about you?
I love riding motorcycles (currently have a 1290 KTM). Took a break from BSO to become a Prison Officer in Bedford gaol. Lasted 6 months and wanted to come back to BSO. Also, volunteer rider for SERV, delivering Blood, Plasma and Platelet to hospitals.
How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
A taciturn passenger whose life aims have been versatility, problem-solving and meditation.
When it comes to work I focus on providing simple, friendly, long-term and stable contributions while I speak loud about my hatred against human complexification.
When did you join BSO and what’s your role?
I joined the SysDevOps Team at BSO in January 2018.
What do you love the most about the BSO culture?
Some of the reasons that motivated me to join BSO: The young startup-like culture, the devotion to link BSO’s human resources to one whole family, the controlled innovative strategies, constraint-free work environment, the flexible and ‘young’ thinking of the executive board - to name a few!
Outside of work, what’s your passion? Or tell us something we don’t know about you!
I am a black belt Karate, practice mechanic diagnostics on petrol cars specifically BMW while being a die-hard lover of the Arabic desert.
